Hilary was a bride from Texas who traveled all the way to Chicago for a customized Matilda gown. The Matilda is a silk organza gown that can be made in two colors which Hilary chose to wear the white version. Her gown was decorated with organza flowers sewn by hand. In addition to her gown she also had her veil made by Alice Padrul Bridal.
Maria chose The Anita gown; a v-neck, sheath gown with spaghetti straps made our of French Alençon as a starting point for her dream wedding dress. She had it customized to fit her style. It had handmade flowers made from organza around the waist. Maria looked beautiful along side her bridesmaids in lilac cocktail dresses and beside her groom Jeff.

Tara traveled from Michigan to Chicago for her dream wedding dress. She came with an idea and a simple sketch and was set on wearing her own personal design on her wedding day. Alice Padrul turned that dream into a reality by creating a beautiful gown for Tara. It was a strapless, mermaid style dress made entirely out of lace with a tulle under skirt.
For Sara’s big day she wore a modified version of Alice Padrul’s ‘The Suzan’ gown. The whole dress was made from French Alencon lace with an organza sash. It was only slightly changed from the original strapless design with the addition of wide, lace straps. The silhouette fit Sara beautiful and she radiated elegance and joy on her wedding day.
Whitney’s wedding gown held special meaning and memories for not just her but two other ladies in her family. It had been passed down from her grandmother to her mother and now to her. It was transformed into two sophisticated yet still modern dresses. Whitney’s ceremony gown was long and elegant while her reception dress was short and fun. The skirts were detachable so she wore them both with the same lace bustier top.

The Bride: Mary Dawn
The Location: The Cathedral of St. Catherine of Alexandria and Pillar & Post Hotel, Ontario, Canada
The Process: After her mother passed away the year prior to her wedding, Mary Dawn had the notion to celebrate her by creating an updated version of her wedding dress to wear at her own nuptials. Creating beautiful custom wedding gowns inspired by family heirloom dresses is a passion of Alice’s. From their very first consultation, Mary Dawn saw that Alice’s vision for the recreated dress would honor her mother while also creating a beautiful, fresh look for her day.
For this type of gown, Alice worked closely with Mary Dawn to create a concept for the dress, guiding the process through fittings and discussion. In the weeks leading up to the event, Alice was even able to create a traditional bonnet to go with the ensemble, made out of fabric from Mary Dawn’s mother.
Mary Dawn says, “The final product was perfect in every way. It featured some very clever design, including a train that attached not with hooks, but with a belt. The fabric was quality, and the look was all I had hoped for. I was so proud to wear it on my wedding day, and I’m so grateful to Alice for helping me to realize it.”
The Dress: The dress of Mary Dawn’s mother was a 1950s-style duchess satin and organza gown with leaf detailing. Alice Padrul’s custom creation honors this and added a detachable train, for ease of transition from ceremony to reception.
